Lately I’ve been hearing a lot of ‘No’s.’ It starts with one reason to not do something, followed by another and then another until I’m snowballed under. No one says it but everyone wants to. The real reason isn’t logical yet the one that stands strongest. They say No because ‘this is how it’s always been.’
Doing something different is uncomfortable, takes more effort and is the last thing anyone wants to do especially when everything is already more difficult than it usually is. It is much easier to go with the flow, do what we’ve always done and wait a while longer. After all, 2021 is right round the corner. Maybe then.
But now is a good time – a good time to find a reason to do something we’ve never done before; to snowball someone with the reasons to say ‘yes’; to start moving.
There are decades where nothing happens; and there are weeks where decades happen. We’ve already lived those weeks. Now let’s make a few more decades happen. What say? Should we strike ‘No’ from our dictionary? If only for a while.
