As misleading the name might be, this is not a blog for HR professionals only. Yes, it makes more sense to them than most others, but if you have ever wondered what rages inside the head of an HR professional, come visit.
If you want to know what’s new in the world of work, visit. If you want ideas on how to manage people effectively, this is place for you. If you are curious about people in general, subscribe. And if you are an HR professional, why haven’t you already?
In short, this space is for everyone. It was created for a set of professionals and has over the years transformed into something everyone can relate to (or I am hoping can). I am retaining the original script for this section for it is a good reflection of my thoughts 7 years ago. Yes, I have been around that long.
May 2013
Life as an HR Business Partner is rarely predictable and never boring. For a while now, friends from all walks of life come up to me and ask me for stories from work. For many, my work is a source of comedy.
I love HR and look forward to heading to work. I have little clue what my day will look like. It would be a lie to say that I enjoy all parts of my job, but it would also be untruthful to say that the work is not invigorating. There are of course mornings where I’d rather curse the world and stay in bed. Work does get hectic and the pressure to deliver is immense. There was a time when I reported to four bosses at once. It is difficult to keep one boss happy; imagine my plight!
This blog is the story of my journey through this profession and my thoughts on various aspects HR professionals dabble in. They are stories and opinions I’d like to share as I walk through this adventure. I know there are many HRBP’s out there who have experienced similar situations and probably handled them differently. I’d like to learn from them. There are many who will face similar challenges in the future. The hope is that when you need answers, you will return to this blog and in some way it can help you leave with an insight on how things work in my head.
Drop by for a new post every Tuesday and some sprinkled in between.

Hi! I’m currently working on organising a conference for HRBPs in London. Are you based in India though? It would be so interesting to get your thoughts on how HRBPs can drive business decisions and prove how effective their contribution is. What would be you rmost relevant post on this subject? Maybe we can share it on our social media channels 🙂 http://www.cipd.co.uk/events/hr-business-partner
