Happy New Year! I hope you’ve had a wonderful start to the year and are on track to making 2017 the best year so far. After all, isn’t that the entire point of a new year? Fresh starts, new resolutions and new goals to achieve.
I hope you have figured out what 2017 will mean for you and what you will bring into the world of HR. Here are a few things I’ve challenged myself to do in the year & I urge you to do the same:
- Experiment with at least one new thing at work. One big idea. Something that hasn’t been tested on a wide scale at the work place. 2016 – I played with ONA. This year, I must go bigger. Maybe scarier.
- Share your learning & your views. Get more active on social media – blogs, LinkedIn, Twitter, WhatsApp groups (I am terrible at this). The learning potential is immense via these mediums.
- Read! This one is simple – research paper, blogs, books, anything you can get your hands on. It helps get a better perspective on things. You may not agree with everything out there but you will be better suited to understand why.
What have you decided for this New Year? I loved the post on Fistful of Talent on 10 HR Recommendations for 2017 and would urge you to take a look at it.
P.S: I changed my profile picture on LinkedIn. Finally!
I always like to read your blogs which are simple yet has a very strong message. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Reading is one thing which I have decided to focus on this year n would work upon sharing and contributing too whatever I gather. Thanks n Happy New Year!
Thank you so much! I’m glad that you enjoy the blog. I look forward to seeing you share & write more
