SHRM did throw the HR community in a frenzy with its announcement the previous week. If you haven’t heard or read about it, here’s the lowdown. (Seriously, which rock have you been hiding under?)
SHRM announced that they will be releasing their own competency based certification (unnamed) from 2015. Further details will be released in the 2014 SHRM Conference & Exposition in Orlando, Florida, in late June. HRCI Executive Director Amy Dufrane claims that HRCI had not been consulted whereas SHRM’s President and CEO Hank Jackson says he is “puzzled and disappointed” at Dufrane’s claims. The fate of PHR/SPHR, GPHR lies unknown.
